The island of Santorini. Beautiful place, also known as Thera, resides the caldera volcano that destroyed the ancient Minoans, residents of this island and of the nearby island of Crete.

Looking out at the caldera.

The bus ride to the top.

The layers of ancient ash from the volcano, with charred black rocks imbedded.

The view from where we had lunch.

The volcano is still active to some extent. The smell of sulfur.

View from the cable car going down to our ship. The only rain we got on our entire trip; lasted about 20 minutes. Luckily, there was no lightning while we were in the cable car.

The Plaza Resort Hotel on the last day of our trip. By far the most luxurious stay.

While we were eating we watched this truck transport the boat to the water.

The view from our hotel in Athens. The Parthenon.

A monastery with restaurant.

The night of our arrival. Already we were going to nightclubs.

The port of Piraeus, a modern as well as an ancient port.

Cats were everywhere, on the islands as well as the mainland. They looked healthy (and happy).

Aphrodite, Goddess of Love.
