| Kilbourne Hole 2006HomeKilbourne Hole and Hunt's Hole are the remnants of volcanic craters, called a maar. It's a pit or depression caused by a volcanic explosion with little volcanic material emitted except gas. They are not very common.
Hunt's Hole
This at Kilbourne Hole. I traveled with the Family Motor Coach 4X4 Association. We're having lunch at the rim before we descend the the bottom with off road vehicles.
Taken from the bottom. We found some "volcanic bombs", inside of which is green olivine glass granules.
