King Tut - 10-22-2006

Home

The King Tut Exhibit temporarily in Las Cruces. Reproductions by Egyptians using the same techniques used by the ancients.

Narmer? Wearing the crown of southern Egypt. Made from the original which dates to the beginning of the Egyptian dynasties.

The God Horus. Here's a good example of the uniting of upper and lower Egypt. The inside crown (looks like a bowling pin) is, I believe, the crown of upper (southern) Egypt. The outer crown around it is lower (northern) Egypt. Together the owner is Pharaoh of all of Egypt.

Winged Isis, I believe.

A Pharaoh, maybe Tut.

Nefertiti, wife of Akenaten, the odd Pharaoh that tried to introduce monotheism.

Akenaten.

Worshipping Aten, the Sun God.

King Tut.

Scarab beetle. Sacred to the ancient Egyptians.

Tut and his wife?

Called an Ankh, I think.

The famous throne chair. You can buy your own reproduction here.

With foot rest.

Mirror of the back.

Top to a canopic jar.

Ushabtis.

Eye of Horus.

Reproduction of the actual mummy.

Good exhibit!
